His whispered words sent a wave of burning color to the roots of her hair. With a soft little laugh he raised her head to meet his passionate gaze."After all these years-Diana have you not grown use to me yet my wife?"

The copy I have says its "condensed" does that mean stuff has been taken out from the original copy?
Sounds like it. :( When was your edition published?
Hmmm, I wonder if you're reading the Barbara Cartland condensation.
According to the internal Ivy League college borrowing catalog, I'm getting a 1925 edition from Princeton. :) I love that the academic libraries often keep the old fiction and don't throw it out because "tastes change."

Yes it is...NOT what I ordered (used) but what I got, I hate it when people sell a book with the wrong picture & book & you get something else..but thats the chance you take sometimes. Im dissapointed as while Im reading this its like something is missing (which now I understand is)and Ive had a hard time getting into it. But my library cant get the 1925 copy :( oh well III see if I can get threw it..Grrrr
Yes, it looks like the Cartland condensation is 100+ pages shorter! Yikes.
Can you complain to the seller Sandi? They should be listing a book according to ISBN #/Publisher/Edition, etc.
Bought it threw Amazon.ca used books for $1.99 and yes Misfit I did contact the seller and complain, and they gave me a credit for the amount & shipping and wouldnt comment on selling a wrong book..I left feedback according to what I got..ect. 100 pages short? I think its more..well seems like it, as Im reading its like a whole part of the story is missing so its hard to figure out the "inbetweens" even an older Harlequin is thicker than this book..
Glad you got your money back, and it is worth letting the sellers know when there's a problem. Granted the larger online sellers may not be able to examine every book closely, but they should list them correctly on the book page. Even on the swap sites I pull my books to be listed up by the ISBN # so I get the right one.

I almost dont want to finish it as its NOT what I expected and its spoiling the enjoyment I had from reading the Sheik..history of the Sons life seems to be missing..as well as what happen for them to be seperated..condensed is confusing for sure.
Doing the math, it looks like the condensed version is lacking some 170 pages. That's not condensing. That's butchery.

Well, the Cartland edition is here on GR, so I'd review that edition specifically and say that it really sucks and was edited badly and to avoid it like the plague!
