I did a bit of digging on the author; he’s a grumpy old man. Entirely opposite to how he portrays himself in his books.

This book ha sheen great. Then out of literal no where it got weirdly transphobic and sexist while trying to pretend it isn’t.
It’s an inset book, sure, and the rest of it is fantastic. But there are just 15 som odd pages there that don’t read all that well at all.

I’d be lying if I said I understood everything that’s being said. There is a lot to learn here and even though it’s presented in beautifully simple metaphor, I’m still not quite catching ALL of it. But what I do catch is gorgeously insightful. It’s also a very relaxing book to read. So many books on philosophy are just…..rhetorically violent. This one feels nice and pretty and calm.
