The FEELZ! My god, how do you do it, Gilbert?! My stomach is in Celtic knots, as is my heart! Amazing, amazing, how you can create a character that demonstrates Arsehole behaviour, and yet still have me understand and empathize, knowing why he acts the way he does (Toby). Also. kier, your woobie hurt has reached unprecedented heights.

Yanno what would be FREAKING AMAZING? If Gilbert wrote A story for Tony, the fat, silent, socially-dysfunctional, keeps to himself janitor.

Four stars for the majority of the book but two stars for the ending: the conflict between K and his dad seemed weak and shoehorned in and was way too predictable, so much so, that I couldn't believe k nor his dad couldn't see the problem clearly. Drew's family conflict was better but the uncle thing also seemed shoehorned in. Otherwise, highly enjoyable sweet jock/geek read.

The development of their relationship makes me squee. So tense and natural and... What started out all fucked up but good has become gentle and real and good.

Dear lord, enough with the misogynist comments! I know the author is just trying to make Drew and Kier sound like how real kids would talk, but seriously, can we set a new standard?! Every time Kier is emotional, needed, or otherwise perceived as behaving negatively, he's "acting like such a girl." Bitch, please: http://youtu.be/XjJQBjWYDTs

Colour me blasé when Keir's dad's mysterious girlfriend is a boyfriend. Kier is as dense about his dad as his dad is him.

Complete, well rounded secondary characters who strongly inform the primaries. Love Drew's relationship his agoraphobic mom. Complex, insightful. Not easy to judge. He's been taking care of her for so long (which is too much for a child, really, but, still, has made Drew empathetic), and when he's vulnerable, asks for help, she "saw that I needed her," and was able to be strong.

Oh, Kieran, you are so woobie! Your desperateness is breaking my heart. Let the guy goooooo. *wrings hands* Have mercy on your pride--some pride is good! God, this is good. Drew is so real. Even if he does make me wanna shake him like no mother should shake her baby. I think it's his youth and self-agony and then his kind, caring side (for his enmeshed mother), that allows me to understand, empathize with his idiocy.
