“I need you to move me to Ward Seven,” Amelia murmured to Andrew that evening as he made his way down the row of patients. “There’s something I need to do.” ….How convenient that Andrew can shift Amelia around seven different wards with seven different patient categories + seven different levels of supervision over the course of only a few weeks, yet nobody bothers to question why. 🙄

I like Amelia’s brother Jonas better than Amelia herself, & Andrew is such an uber-beta hero. 🤢 But at least the pace smoothed out enough to make it readable.

Woah, where’s the fire?? Less than 30 pgs & already we’ve got an introduction of 2 MCs, several minor cast, the backstory, the current situation, Amelia’s gift, Amelia’s injury, Amelia’s coma, Amelia’s newly-augmented gift post-recovery, & incarceration in the asylum. SLOW DOWN, already! How am I supposed to care if there’s no established depth?
