Fraser Ridge is a long distance away from the starting stages of war, things are still normal. Lizzie had an easy birth by the time Claire & Bree got there the baby was out already. Everyone came 2 see the baby except Lizzie's father. He's still hurt over Lizzie's multiple weddings. Jamie sends one of the twins 2 get him. Lizzie says he's welcome 2 meet his grandson but if he refuses 2 not bother coming at all.

Lord John writes. He says he's seen Jamie's name on the lists of rebellious & warns him that the British are coming 2 punish. John's not only fearful 4 Jamie's life but his family's. If the British find out about his & Jamie's friendship it may cause harm 2 John himself & his family as well. He's asking Jamie 2 rethink his loyalties. Jamie writes back that's it's 2 late & they must cut ties w/each other.

Jemmy caught lice from one of the kids on the ridge. So they shaved his head. They found a mole behind Jems ear. Bree said it wasn't there b4 & worried it might be something. Roger says he has one in the exact same spot, it's not harmful. Claire says kids usually grow moles around age 3 & most moles are hereditary. So now they know indefinitely that Jem is Rogers son.

Jamie makes the twins draw straws. Kezzie pulls the shorter 1, leaving Jo 2 pack his bags & not come back until the baby is born. Jo is heartbroken watching Lizzie & Kezzie get hand fast. They let the 3 of them have a moment 2gether & when they come back Jo has just cut his brothers thumb off & seared the wound so it matches his own. & the 3 of them smile cause now no one can tell the twins apart

Ch73 back on the ridge, Claire & Jamie find out that Lizzie is pregnant but she doesn't know which one of the Beardsley twins is the father. The first time happened when Lizzie was ill w/malaria fever. No one was home but her & the twins so they helped her. They undressed her & rubbed her down w/meds. When she started 2 shiver they kept her warm w/body heat

Mckenzie's are a very sly & jealous sort. Who knows what Jocosta did 2 her previous husband when she found out he was cheating on her. & u can't put it past her that she didn't do anything 2 Phaedre if she did so happened 2 find out about Duncan's infidelity, perhaps she's just biding her time 2 get Duncan. That's why Jamie says Duncan better be in tact when winter is over

Ch72 Claire gets a message from Phaedre (Jocostas body slave) but they can't figure out why she's calling 4 Claire. They go 2 River Run & find that Phaedre's run away, they soon find out that Phaedre is the daughter of jocosta's dead husband. Then Duncan tells them that he & Phaedra did some things & she maybe w/child. They can only pray 4 her now but Jamie tells Jocosta he knows about her

Ch64 Roger started ministering. Bobby wants 2 marry either Lizzie or Malva. Lizzie's dad says No. Most of the people contract amoebic dysentery & some die. Claire almost dies from overworking herself & Mrs. Bug cut off all her hair. Some of the kids try 2 drown wee Henri-Christian but Roger saves him. Fergus tries 2 kill himself & Jamie's thinking of sending them away

Ulysses tells Jamie & Claire that someone stole the gold that was hidden in the pantry. It could've been anybody. The other gold hidden in hectors coffin is safe. Jamie decides that they're going 2 stay & help keep on the lookout, Claire can take care of Jocosta & Bri got a few commissions on portraits 2. That'll help bring a few dollars in since the whiskey shed got destroyed.

Flora McDonald is kind of a Scottish celebrity, she helped prince Charlie sneak out of Scotland after culloden. Every Scott around the colony is there 2 greet her. Jocosta's eye was hurting but she didn't want it 2 ruin the party. Claire noticed & did surgery o her eye. Jocosta said the man she met long ago had come back 4 the gold. She never saw his face but remembers his voice.
