Terrible writing made it really hard for my son and I to get through the first book. We were intrigued and enjoyed the premise but had a hard time understanding the details as scenes were set poorly. We tried starting book two and stopped as it wasn’t enjoyable feeling so lost.

Finished book 1. Adventurous though Charlie and I didn’t love the writing style. There were parts where it was hard to follow the author’s imagination. I’m curious how it will continue though Charlie requested a break.
