Kev Nickells Is this good?
Did you read Capital? I've avoided it for a while and I will probably stop avoiding soon. I like his writing. I also like socialism.

It's alright if you already have in depth context of European political history. I don't, so it took extra effort to understand what was going on. It's a collection of essays so it's relatively easy to digest. Not as "socialist" as I hoped though
I haven't read Capital because I have big book fear, I might try to overcome that soon

Kev Nickells Big books are tyrannical. I read the Bible a couple of years ago and it was a real slog, even as I enjoyed it.

The thing that puts me off Capital is that I read the other Capital and that too was a slog and I feel like I have read a lot of those 'massive books' but Pikkety is, as far as I can tell, a really good writer and much more capable of explaining modern economics than most people writing on the subject.

Maybe I'll have a go at Capital once I'm at the bottom of the current to-read pile... I'll probably avoid Time for Socialism though. I feel like I've done my bit with left-wing theory for now.
