Castelo is a Lee and PTS alum. Lots of familiar names in his bibliography (Terry Cross, Christopher Stephenson, Mark Noll in ch. 1). So far, Castelo has questioned Pentecostalism's identification as an evangelical tradition, alternatively suggesting that its core impulses more closely reflect historic Christian mysticism. Really excited to read this in conjunction with Thomas Merton's Course in Christian Mysticism.

I wonder what Merton would think, if he read this one? :)

I remember Stephenson making the case in our Pentecostal theology course that Pentecostalism is a movement arising out of, but distinct, from Protestantism (just as Protestantism arises out of, but is distinct, from Catholicism). I recall the case being compelling. Sounds like Castelo also wants to trouble some traditional identifications.
