1/3 in and i cant stand lan. there are no consequences to her actions and the narrator tries to convince me she cared for a friend she had no problem leaving behind by telling me instead of showing because the author decided to kill ying off within the first beat of the story. world building is ok so far, could go more into showing than telling (which is handled well with the characters' introspection, but that's it)
