Didn't get as far as I had hoped on my flight, but it keeps getting more exciting. I'm definitely not looking forward to finishing now. Pullman isn't pulling any punches.

I feel like I'm taking forever with this book, but I really think I'm just savoring it. This is everything I had hoped for. I'll most likely finish it this week and then be sad for it. I think I can guess where everything is going (including a guess for what will happen in book 6).

I think I finally see what Pullman is showing us. It's always been interesting that he gives his characters an external/physical soul, and Lyra's skepticism about her daemon and even ally the events in the original trilogy in this book has been weird and super awkward.

The story of the fire man and his water daemon was great but much too brief. It was like the wizard of Oz. Will we see Agrippa again? Also, Lyra asked him about dust. I can't remember if she ever saw Mary Malone's computer. I should probably read Amber Spyglass again.

I'm intrigued
