I seriously thought we would not address the entire... Whatever those things were that were chasing after Random in the first book... situation. I kinda imagine them like half-morphed werewolves? Like you know they're kinda human, in the same vibe as any non-human, non-Amberite race is presented, but they still stand out.

I sure didn't expect them to be in New York with that cover art lol but I guess now we're getting into the biz™
