The proposed definition for /data/: "...cultural artifacts created by people, and their dutiful machines, at a time, in a place, and with the instruments at hand for audiences that are conditioned to receive them". Data are plural, not universal, more than rhetorical, and not everything can become data. Also, the book focuses on DELIMITING our perception of /local/
