*Sigh* here we go again. The most I can say for Parker is he consistently writes FAFO humans who don’t deserve to be saved and Aquaman just runs after them like a janitor instead of allowing Darwinism to do its thing.

I actually enjoyed the Diana/Mera team up! That’s been my favourite part of this book.

He just stole Aquaman’s fucking trident!!! Don’t act like it’s a loan, you swiped it. I actually am not enjoying this shit at all— everybody in this volume is entitled and screechy and Arthur’s just sorta there. I miss Geoff Johns badly.

I think the concepts have potential but the execution is just making me side-eye Arthur a little. I should feel entrenched in this story but I’m struggling to care & I’m kinda sorta siding with the kraken.

Plus, dumbass humans are the reason everyone else is in this calamity. I know Arthur doesn’t know that yet but if he doesn’t have any smoke for those morons, I might just toss this in my unhaul pile and stick with the Geoff Johns stuff. I knew this would be an adjustment, I didn’t think the drop in quality would be so steep.

Just finished the trade’s second issue. I’m so disappointed because I don’t like the direction the story is going in at all tbh. It feels weird that Arthur doesn’t acknowledge what the kraken means to Atlanteans in the slightest— ultimately he’s going to save the humans, ofc, but he doesn’t even really take a beat to acknowledge he’s stripping Atlantis of something meaningful.

Man the people in that Kraken’s mouth are gonna need so much therapy.
