What happened to the people after her. Vic said her life was in danger. Did author forget or did Vic lie?

How this conversation went. Why is this conversation happening?

"I couldn't resist baiting him. I loved making him angry. It was sick I know; but he was just so magnificent when he was upset." Says the girl who goes from one abusive relationship to another.

I dislike the lack of structure and the jumping back and forth from one unrelated thing to another. That and throwing in random dramatic moments that don't fit at all.

Sometimes I feel like the author has forgotten what she's written because she gets off topic so much.

I'm slightly uncomfortable with the fact that she's been in an extremely abusive relationship that's she had to run from and now she's with a guy who has a bad temper and seems to be rough.
