Where the first book was busy, this second book is charming.

If ghosts are non-corporeal, how do they sit on couches? You’d think they’d just hover around or something.

Emma Skapetis That's great😍. Maybe I should give this series a try than.

Kristina It’s set in Australia in 1890… it’s a great concept but the first book was not the best but this second book is doing a better job, unfortunately you need the backstories in the first. 😢

She wrote a book called murder at the freak show which I liked better but it didn’t have any paranormal elements. That book was super cozy and Victorian and set in Australia which I don’t see much in cozy historical.

Emma Skapetis Oh I'm instantly interested now. I don't read many books set in Australia (despite my nationality) but I always enjoy it when I do. The other book sounds interesting too. I didn't know Victorian books could be set in Australia lol.

Kristina Me either. Murder at the freak show was my first one, and I read the whole series. Australian author, Australian setting. Seemed authentic to my Canadian self. I liked the whole mortician angle in this one. They talk about how they have to store the bodies etc due to climate and customs in Australia for mourning at the time. I love that shit.
