I have to say Shadow out of Time might be the weakest of Lovecrafts stories. At least, the weakest one I can recall after reading so much of his material. He does fall into his own tropes sometimes and 50 pages of finding a stone you had a dream about is just... Peak lame-o Lovecraft IMO.
