The story gains speed as an expedition on the great Colorado in the great Canyon begins.

This book covers so much geography that it would be useful to study alongside maps, and I find myself wishing for illustrations. Not being intimately familiar with the area, sometimes it is unclear to me if the author is referring to land around the Grand Canyon or generally in “the west.”
