(Continued) why do people. React. Like. They. Have. Never. Had. Cinamon rolls. If a society has easy access to sugar, fine flour, and spices like cinnamon- then shouldn’t pastries like this be commonplace? Why are people losing their shit? Why cinamon rolls as well? Couldn’t it be a more creative pastry for an orc and succubus run coffee shop? Confused. Angered. Upset.

(continued) a character early In the story bakes a cake using figs and it is said to be horrible to eat. Okay. That’s something. A European, mideval setting, dried raisins or figs would be something they could eat (and might even be considered exotic). BUT PROCESSED SUGAR?? AND EVEN IF WE IGNORE THAT and they do for some reason have an abundance of processed sugar for baking (continued in part 3)

I understand that this is fantasy. It doesn’t always have to make sense right? But my main issue is that of sugar. Sugar as we know it is not a simple product. The characters go to a shop and buy sugar. And don’t loose all their life savings for it- not even baking batches and batches of sugary pastries. This is a quasi historical setting right? (Continued in pt 2)
