People make me feel like I’m being so damn dramatic when I express my complete disdain for our societal expectations. This is the affirmation and validation I needed: all this is actually bullshit. Likewise—and fortunately— Thoreau appears to have optimistic intentions with writing Walden. It isn’t just: “I ABANDONED society for 2 years 😤🫶🏼😎 here’s what I learned.” This is medicine.
