This is my second one, I really like it. It's definitely an epic saga, spanning many generations. He doesn't go in depth into all of what I would consider to be the main characters, but I guess with a book that's 1100 pages long that's all right. In this one and the first I read (The Drifters), there's a lot of social/political commentary that the characters grapple with, which I find makes the book more enjoyable than if it was just a character study.
