This chapter was better and engaging. Disney was manipulative and cunning but the FL government was so blindsided by big business and economic promise that they didn’t further investigate Disney’s promises, nor did they solidify any check and balances for when Disney eventually wouldn’t follow through on its ideas.

This book is insufferably boring.

Kinda boring right now not gonna lie. Finished two more chapters: one on the scuzzy political dealing to build I-4 through Orlando and one on how Disney acquired the Orlando property. Second chapter was actually very interesting towards the end, but just lots of names and organizations involved.
