FYI Crete is a small island off of Greece- yes Greece. It is never mentioned.

She also uses the term 'tribe' in describing the people of Crete. Tribe is referring to a group of nomads numbering in 10(min) to 50(max). So it's clear she does not know what a tribe is in the first place. Any-who there hasn't been any tribes in Crete for again centuries given the setting of this book. I have a BA in Anthropology so yeah, this bothers me... I mean you can freakin google it.

I am sure/hope the author is not trying to be offensive. However with how much she uses the word 'primative' in describing everything to Crete's various cultures is incredibly insulting. Let alone misleading. Crete was filled with the most modern of buildings and ideas for several centuries.
