Adam misses another Sunday dinner, unable to tell his siblings about their dad. He arrives at the diner & Sage is waiting for him. She proposes he “be publicly slimy to ruin the family reputation which would expose his dad & allow her exBF to not hold things over his dads head with the club” & doing it by publicly dating/being seen with her (the total opposite). He doesn’t want to ruin his own chance of success

At Sage’s apartment, she sets his nose. Then after they both found out they were lied to and betrayed, Adam fucks her hard - complete opposite fit of who he is but he does it anyway and she loves it.

Adams dad, Truett, is a piece of shït. Adam sees him having his way with a girl in VIP & attacks him. His dad said “his private life didn’t matter; people wanted a good looking pastor; etc”. Sage takes Adam back to her place.

Adam and his father don’t get along. He’s tried to please him his whole life while his brother didn’t and had all the fun. Now he’s 37 and realizes how much he’s missed. He finds his dad owns a warehouse, it’s the spin Pink that Sage works at - and he’s found her.

Adam is ambushed by his mother at dinner, inviting Lucy. It’s going badly. Lucy says goodbye and tells Adam he’s “too good”. His father also takes his sermon writing away, leaving Adam clueless in what’s next.

Sage is doing financials & notices extra money. Brett walks in, recs her up, fucks bee from behind, then they get in a fight bc he took a loan out to hire a person to “make it better.”

Sunday night dinner at Adam’s parents house lends him questions about marriage and dating. Sage physically would never fit in with his family. He perfect mother wouldn’t approve and pastor father def wouldn’t.

Sage is 27 & wants to settle down, but not settle with a random person. She has a FWB named Brett and she’s kinda over him. She goes to sleep thinking of her encounter with Adam.

An old diner Adam would go to to write sermons is a happening place. He runs into a pink haired, fully tatted woman named Sage and is instantly interested. They agree to meet a week later for another breakfast. Appearance wise, complete opposites.

12 years prior, a 12 year old boy named Adam joins his family as they open their new church together; Adam vows him and his dad will protect the city from sin and be a hero.
