I was right not to be a fan of that messenger rat.

I am not a fan of digressing to discuss the messenger rat, describe various other unappealing creatures and the like ... I only read this when I run out of both Wi-Fi and other books.

I lost patience at this point. The book reads as one of those chapter books (with 50+ sequels) you can get through scholastic (see "The secrets of droon"). I just finished the first two books of the "Bone Season", so I may be spoiled though. Will keep the book on this shelf though ... you never know ...
