Alec Worrell-Welch’s Reviews > The Incomparable God: Readings in Biblical Theology > Status Update

Just finished the essay on Tolkien’s orcs and the Bible’s Canaanites. It was a hard one but it draws out a sort of slow conversion from hating to tolerating to loving one’s enemies that is hard to trace in these parts of Scripture. I’m left with much to ponder.

Phenomenal essays (and a few sermons) on difficult passages and ways of reading, synthesizing with, and meeting God through the Old Testament. This book energizes my mind and is building a habit of drawing out tears from my heart.
