I am loving this book. I have wanted to read it since Martin Edwards compared it to And Then There We’re None, in his book The Golden Age of Murder. But I ended up reading up several other Anthony Berkeley novels that were cheaper to get; but as couldn’t put this one off any longer. And Then There Were None was the first Mystery for grown ups I ever read, and Martin Edwards made me want this twist on that premise.

Maybe this one ahead of the Ramsey Campbell novel - not sure. Both very tempting...but I spent years wanting a copy of this particular Sheringham entry, and now I have it, and it's irresistible!
