This book was exactly what I was looking for: every contemporary description and image of the dodo with commentary on their likely accuracy. For a reader not obsessed with dodos, it is repetitive reading that takes you down dead-ends of false facts, misconceptions, embellishments and mistranslations.

Presumably this will all we wrapped up in a near summary of what is true at the end.
