This feels… kinda exploitative? Kind of appropriative and patronizing? I’m not sure how to describe the author’s tone, but it’s not a comfortable read. If you’ve ever been uncomfortable seeing white people wax poetic about Japan as if it exists just for their enjoyment, that’s kind of how this feels.
