Nancy I liked this book because I liked this idea of two twins being very light skinned in a black community. And then they MoveOn and one has the unfortunate life of staying in the black world in the same community. They grew up in and the other twin goes on and leads a glamorous life as a white passing woman. However, the author doesn’t dive deep into the details of Desiree, the black twin and her life in the small town. We don’t know if it was miserable or, happy. Whereas the white twins, Stella is surrounded by physical luxuries, but always emotionally miserable. The way the plot, twists and turns is rather unbelievable but still intriguing the ending was disappointing. The one thing I will note is on page 299. One of the leader characters Kennedy in the early 90s goes off to teach spin class but I emailed the author. There was no such thing as spin class in the early 90s, aerobics was just making it into all the new Health clubs. I’m going to donate this book in the little library.
