I love that by changing how Elizabeth and Darcy meet, Joy gives us the opportunity to see Darcy go through his own journey of self awareness without needing the Kent set down and refusal from Elizabeth. He still goes on the journey to be worthy of a woman who is worthy of being pleased but it's his own internal reflection that sets him on this path.

Thank god for Colonel Fitzwiliam telling Darcy NOT to mention his struggles to Elizabeth....avoiding the disaster we saw in proposal #1.

Elizabeth does not want a compromise to be the reason she and Darcy are linked. She tells them there has been no compromise. She does not want Darcy to see how affected she is or to see if he is disturbed by the idea.

Jane with the knowledge bombs...calling out that it's clear Caroline Bingley pines for Darcy but it's also clear he prefers Lizzie.

Also, Darcy defending a young girl to a hotheaded soldier and then taking time to get to know her and her puppy...my heart :) He and Elizabeth were quite the force together!

I am enjoying seeing how Darcy and Elizabeth may have had the opportunity to get to know one another better had the Meryton snub never occurred. I am enjoying the little moments of humor where Darcy can laugh at himself, like his friendship with Clarice.

Watch out Darcy, Elizabeth is bound to break through that grumpy facade sooner than you think. And poor Colonel Fitzwilliam, but i love that circumstances bring him into the story earlier and we get to see what it would have been like had he been in Meryton and at Netherfield when Darcy and Elizabeth first met.
