Chapter 9 I adored. I had brain surgery as well, only different due to it being from a Traumatic brain injury and I was five. The way Ferrence, on page 215 explains: “I wanted this to mean something. I want it all to mean something, even if I don’t yet know how to interpret the symbols I create.” Hit home for me. It’s fascinating how tender our brains are physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Chapter 1: Nice introduction to the Appalachian Area of PA. I also miss exploring the woods of Oil City, Townville, and Titusville. No where feels safe anymore like it was.
