A 5-star section was followed by a segment I would rate using 1 star. It has become apparent that the author doesn't know what to do or doesn't want the reader to know what he's doing.

If Rodrigo Fresan is a writer's writer, than Adam Levin is a writer's writer's writer. Furthermore, my Kindle page count claims this book is twice as long as The Dreaming Part. Wtf?

If I had to guess, I'd say that Adam Levin and Joshua Cohen are roughly the same person. At least on the level of idiosyncratic prose.
