Did I think Aviva and Callie's dad just up and leaving after being mean and an alcoholic for years made sense? No. It happened too quickly and too smoothly if you ask me, but again, it worked out in the end, which is all that matters. God I love this series and I'm sad that my library doesn't have the last two :(

I also really appreciate them not dragging out their breakup, as they sat down and talked about it. Yes, I see Aviva's point in Nico overstepping by paying all of their bills (and I do mean ALL of them), as he should've talked to her about it. But I also know she would've never let him pay off her debts if he had, and having those removed DID lift a burden off her shoulders. I'm just glad it all worked out :)

Like the first book, this was spot on. I loved every character (except Dusty Sr. who needs a slap upside the head, please) and each of their journeys. Callie and Nico's relationship was so wholesome, and I loved how they were partners in crime. Truly the sweetest thing ever. And Nico and Aviva? *chef's kiss*. They accepted and loved every part of the other, even the ones they were ashamed of, and it was beautiful :)

Aviva needs to realize that Nico helping her is an act of love and not because he thinks she's a charity case. Also you can be a strong woman with people helping you every now and then. That doesn't diminish everything else she has accomplished. Asking for help doesn't make her less strong, it probably makes her stronger for realizing and accepting her own shortcomings.

I'm siding with Callie on this. I get that Nico's mom wants what's best for him, but it wasn't her place to tell Aviva about his diagnosis just because SHE thought it was time. Do I think Aviva would have handled this lovingly and respectfully if he had just told her himself? Absolutely. But his mom took that from him; it should've been HIS choice.

It did pass my mind that Nico may be on the autism spectrum, so him telling Callie that he has atypical autism makes sense. And I think him telling Callie as the first one was really perfect, because this kid is amazing and unsurprisingly took it in a stride. Hopefully this'll give him the courage to tell Aviva too - in his own time of course. Gosh this book!!

Nico is too damned sweet and I just want to hug him. He has obviously been through a lot and connecting with Aviva meant something to him. Gahh, how has this series gotten under my skin and into my heart this quickly? Not that I would have it any other way, but still?

Aviva is so strong and amazing for keeping her head high after everything she's been through - and I love Nico for how he reacted to her telling him about her double mastectomy because of the cancerous gene she possesses. Gosh, this story is just.. so amazing :)

This book is showing a new side to Nico. He's not the total fuckboy and jokester he was made out to be in the book before. I knew he had to have some depth to him to write a whole book about him, but I can honestly say that I am pleasantly surprised. I'm even intrigued ;)
