? Rich stole the book (and lost my page), so I'm going to start Rocketman and hope to get my book back . . . sometime this century . . .

message 2: by Joy (new)

Joy Also I think I hear Francine screaming "get him a noooooooook!!!!!"

message 3: by Sarah (new) - added it

Sarah Eckert I might have to get him a nook. We just got iPhones and, of course, the first app I found was iBook . . .

message 4: by Joy (new)

Joy oooo well then you're set! I know there is a nook app and I think there's a kindla app for the iphone. All you have to do is buy the book and then the two of you can read the same book in different places!

message 5: by Sarah (new) - added it

Sarah Eckert Yeah, and he can't lose my place. Humph!

message 6: by Joy (new)

Joy Sounds like a really good idea. Tell us what app you end up with, if you do, so we can get itunes/amazon/B&N/Borders cards or get specific books from the right store!

message 7: by Sarah (new) - added it

Sarah Eckert Sweet! Well Apple has this one called iBooks? I downloaded that one, but if B&N or Borders or whatever don't have a way to download to that, it's fine. I'm kinda sentimental on good old "hard copy" or physical books . . .

message 8: by Joy (new)

Joy lol I am too. I concentrate best with hard copies but it is nice to have everything on one device when Tom has to go to work suddenly. We can get you iTunes cards for the iBooks. I know it sounds odd but iTunes cards buy iBooks. Maybe just the ones that Rich is likely to steal? Unless that's all of them . . .

message 9: by Sarah (new) - added it

Sarah Eckert Duh (to me). I should have remembered that iTunes does iBooks because iBooks went to iTunes when I downloaded it. I guess Rich and I will be asking for iTunes gift cards for presents from now on :)

message 10: by Joy (new)

Joy Sounds good to me. I don't know about apple but there are ways with kindle and nook that you can gift actual books.

Sarah Eckert Oh! Cool! Yeah, I don't think Apple is there yet (where you can actually gift books) . . . Or maybe I'm just not fluent enough in Apple . . .

message 12: by Joy (new)

Joy lol better than me I can't speak apple at all ;-)

message 13: by Sarah (new) - added it

Sarah Eckert I didn't speak Apple until I got this phone :)

Yup, there's a nook and kindle app - I have it on mine. :-) And on the iPad. It makes it very convenient to always have your book at the ready when you are, no matter where you are. :-)

Just go to iTunes and download it - it's free (nook and kindle apps, I mean). iBooks has a more limited selection of books, unfortunately (but I love iBooks' interface best), followed by kindle then nook. I like the fact that kindle allows you to sync all your devices and you can just pop in whenever and wherever and you're on the correct page. Unfortunately, nook doesn't allow you to. iBooks does but only when you sync your device with your computer.

Sarah Eckert Cool! I just downloaded an app that lets me turn my iPhone into a GPS device. Basically, hit "Go" and throw the phone in my back pocket. The app does the rest. I think I'll try it on my ride tomorrow. There's also a way I can update friends (they can track me on my route, but I'm not sure how to enable that yet . . .

Joy lol cool I guess you won't have to guess mileage that way.
