Still struggling with wanting to quit this book, but I’ve definitely come too far to stop now. It’s pretty amazing to me how little feeling I have for the characters and how little emotion I have for what happens to them. No connection to the characters at all. Also, tired of all of the dated pop culture references

Starting to see a lot of holes in the plot. I don’t understand why the aliens waited to attack for decades, until after the humans were able to copy their tech. I don’t get how a simulated battle experience could so throughly prepare a fighting force for a real-life scenario. Makes even less sense that it was the ONLY preparation for the fighters. Also, why recruit them the SAME DAY as the invasion?

I’m struggling to get through it. Just over 1/3 of the way through it, and I’m struggling to stay interested. I have no connection to the characters. I just continue because I’ve already spent so much time reading it. I want to at least finish 🤦🏼‍♀️ also, it was a suggestion from a friend
