I'm not sure why but the dialogue feels more real in this than in, say, something by Williams. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but it feels like real people are saying the lines with Inge's writing, even if they feel more theatrical. Maybe it's because Williams wrote mostly deep south and I'm more familiar with midwest sensibilities comparatively?
