Rereading this and immediately being thrown headfirst back into my deep and undying love for Remy Pendergast

I CANNOT LISTEN TO THIS AUDIOBOOK WHILE I DRIVE IM GOING TO RUN MY GODDAMN CAR OFF THE ROAD

I cannot fucking believe this has just been oh so innocently sitting unread on my bookshelf for a YEAR like it wasn’t primed to be my new obsession wtf

I can’t even call what these two characters are doing ‘banter’ because they’re just viciously and constantly insulting each other.

I love it.

I know it’s just because EOTV happens to be on my mind today but like 30 pages into this I was already thinking that if you think you want to read Empire of the Vampire, but don’t feel like reading 700 pages of violent misogyny from a middle aged white man and would rather read something queer that doesn’t hate women by a BIPOC author you should probably try this book 🥰

Anyway it’s great so far!
