The books I keep thinking of most often as I read this are Money and Eichmann in Jerusalem. Particularly the second one.

Andrew Noselli Money by Emile Zola?

Manny I was actually thinking of Martin Amis.

Andrew Noselli You should have said so explicitly, as he is a minor author compared to Zola.

Manny Agreed! Though if I'd meant Zola's book, I would have cited it as L'Argent.

Andrew Noselli OK, goodnight !

message 6: by Théo d'Or (new)

Théo d'Or Judging by the cover, it reminds me of the girl in the red coat from Schindler's List. Remember ?

Manny I think that is probably accidental.

message 8: by Théo d'Or (new)

Théo d'Or Of course. But it reminds us of the power of detail. In Spielberg's movie, that little girl only appears once, but it had a huge impact.
