The Darcy/Lizzie romance is the least interesting part of this story, which is both weird and fine with me. I can't support certain characters' characterizations, mainly Mr. Bennett. Charlotte Lucas has always been a plot device, I suppose, but she's so bland and passive here that I'm disappointed. The story itself is entertaining enough.

I know I'm only 1 chapter in but I'm already wavering. This Darcy seems to love Elizabeth because of how she makes him feel, and how she looks. In the original, Darcy did not think much of Lizzie's looks until he got to know her. He fell in love with her mind, her personality. This Darcy just seems, well, enchanted. With daze from her passive magicka and from his own lust for her body. It's a bit icky.
