I've read the "Brainrush" series and really liked Bard's writing style. Fast paced action that didn't get bogged down in too much detail. You will need to have read the "Brainrush" series to really understand the past and history of the characters here, but once you do you will want to read the "Everlast" duology as well. Good read, went by too fast.
