There's very much a theme in 372 pages books that I don't seem to enjoy nearly as much as the jackals: NOTHING. HAPPENS. This is again more enjoyable (read: easier to actually read) than Antigua, but the constant repetition and lack of anything resembling a coherent plot or character development or anything else that normal books contain really wears on me.

This is a rare second book from a 372 pages author that was a big improvement....but Antigua set the bar so incredibly low it would take deliberate effort to not exceed it in quality.
