Fun fact: the ‘50s were an outlier in birth rate, marriage age, number of married women who stayed at home, etc. So while people often hold up that era as the pre-sexual revolution ideal, the same trends don’t actually hold when you go back to the period between WWII and the ‘20s. People back then married later, had less kids, and more women worked outside the home.
