The Magician's Nephew - 4/5
So classically British. Whimsical, incredibly creative and funny! Like a warm cosy blanket. Never read the Narnia books before, but this first book is a really wonderful introduction into this vast world. Enjoyed myself immensely. Excited for more!

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - 2/5
Controversial, but in comparison to the first book this fell flat for me. It doesn't help that I adore the movie, which has epic battles and great characterization. The book unfortunately has none of those things. Little to no tension and the humor from book 1 was nowhere to be found. It is clear this book was written first as Lewis' work obviously gets better with time.
