I felt deeply that Shadow's experience riding the Largest Carousel in the World is so much like life. As children we enjoy things and moments simply for enjoying them, licking a depleting Popsicle, riding a carousel and hoping the music never stops. Such care-free abandon to simply enjoy things.

Then the music does stop, the Popsicle melts away, life goes on. Those sweet moments are so because they're short.
