She finally stopped apologizing to Grady and stood up for herself. That was certainly a unique way to try to kill someone in a romance novel.

The main characters are hard to like. Grady says some pretty mean things and Mack takes it and goes back to him and apologizes like it's her fault. Then when she should speak up and defend him or straighten out a misunderstanding, she wimps out. Never asks his side of the story.

Why does everyone the cops question end their sentences with ", you know?" ? ??? Do people in Pennsylvania do that or does this author just like it?

Well that was an awkward situation in which they meet again after 8 years, of course, that night 8 years ago was awkward and humiliating too. Busted by your brother during your 1st time, then meeting again while tipsy and puking on the guys shoes!
