It is hard to imagine that this well-known science-fiction writer is inviting those of us who happen to be reading him in the mid-20th century to become survivalists so that we can live after the coming nuclear war! And this guy is conservative and pretty much in favor of kill or be killed mentality.

It turns out that what I thought was a true narrative was a “science-fiction” story about the use of radioactive dust dropped over Berlin that was lethal to the population in an effort to stop World War II.

There is surprising to me a good deal of detail included in the beginning of this book about nuclear energy research, which is involved with both medical use and wartime use. Some of the early stories of this author had to do with radioactive nuclear activities. This is to include the building of the World War II atomic bomb.
