i’m very fond of sapphic literature - that’s all i read - but i draw the line at republican lesbians. although jansson wasn’t a liberal at all the character of jonna (inspired by tuulikki pietilä) is and it’s very stressful to read her comentaries on indigenous people for instance. jansson’s writing, specially the mélange between real life and fiction, is extradiordinary though.
