I have a feeling that it’d be so fun to analyze this story, there’s so much symbolisms, mythology and foreshadowing. I love the world-building so much, and I ADORE the idea of using Bones Bunny (what a wonderful name!) and Butterfly as a framing device, it’s so cool! I can’t wait to read the third and final volume (for now!), and see how the writer and the artist improve on their (already good/pretty) craft!

It’s interesting that all the reapers work in pairs: Alice and Ginny, Molly and Johnny, and now Cyrus and the horse. I love Deathface Ginny. She’s great! I can’t wait to read the third volume. The writer said it’d be about “the power and commerce in early Hollywood” and “it’ll feature silent film and puppetry” I’m excited whatever that means!

Did I say how much I love the covers? They’re brilliant! I love the idea of Cyrus being the one to tame the reaper of fear thus, turning it (and by extension himself) into the reaper of courage. It fits so well with his story from the first volume. The Mason being the reaper of grace is…strange, I can’t wait for them to elaborate on that. I liked those side characters who were hauling the bodies, they’re fun

I don’t understand why the previous Death was there when Alice had looked into the eyes of the reaper of fear. That whole sequence was breathtaking by the way (who’s that little girl with her her daughter? Her sister?) she died burning which…sucks. All the Viking/Icelandic(?) details explain the hair color which is so cool. The reaper of war’s design is great! Did he take Ginny? What’s happening?

Oh my god, that was intense! Of course they’re all reapers. Alice is the reaper of cruelty, Ginny is the reaper of vengeance (right?), Molly RAVEN and Johnny COYOTE (I feel so stupid because I didn’t get it) are either good luck or bad luck depending on the day (they’re basically the reaper of fortune) and the horse is the reaper of fear but who exactly is the reaper of war?

MOLLY!!!! It’s interesting that she can transform into a raven and Johnny transforms into a dog/wolf? It’s so cool. I love Alice she’s awesome. But Cyrus…I didn’t see that coming.

I love the “backmatter” it’s so interesting! And I agree with the artist inking is HARD, but I’m glad that she was able to figure it out I can’t wait to be more comfortable with my brushpen.

What a strong opening! Starting with Sarah on her deathbed and confirming that both her daughter and granddaughter can see the dead. I don’t know why I keep forgetting that the Mason is dead. I can’t wait to see how Sissy is doing with her new job. “Alice us a reaper of cruelty” is a very interesting information. What happened there with Sarah’s youngest son? That was strange.
