This, sadly, often read a lot more like Erica Friedman's own memoir, rather than simply a history on yuri. It's logical, considering the book is based a lot on her own essays and experiences in the history. But it wasn't quite was I was hoping for when I bought this book. I wish it was more plain facts, and less her own personal judgements and opinions on things.
