I have finished the book. It is a great story of how a young lady who has nothing, but looking for a family of her own. She could neither read or write. Growing up really poor with no family to speak of.
She answered a mail order bride advertisement. The groom has some requirements. The biggest is a problem he wants someone who is educated. She goes anyway and after some hurdles along the way it works out for good.
